The New York Times bestselling authors take a journey into the Cape Light of Christmas past.
As the citizens of Cape Light deck the halls for a Christmas to remember, the curmudgeonly Lillian Warwick has been confined to her bed with pneumonia. Cared for by her daughters, Emily and Jessica, she lets her thoughts drift back to the holiday season of 1955, to the magical time when she first met Oliver Warwick-the dashing man who would become her husband.
Back then, Lillian was beautiful, spirited, and idealistic, and Oliver was a wonderful man who took a real joy in living. As she recounts those romantic early days to her daughters and faces the mistakes she's made, she is reminded of a time when she had much to be grateful for-and of all the special gifts Christmas can bring.
And, to cap off this special, life-altering holiday season, there just might be a winter wedding on the horizon...
Katherine Spencer was a fiction editor before turning to a full-time career as a writer. The author of more than twenty books for both children and adults, she lives with her husband and daughter in a small village on the Long Island Sound, very much like Cape Light.

I have not witnessed a miracle but I was in an accident at age 23 in which I should have died but miraculously I did survive.

I really don't think about any peticular christmas, all of them are special to me.Or parts of them..I can remember when i was little my aunt and uncle always amade sure each one of the neices and nephews(25) got agift from them. Most times they would get me a little beaded change purse, wow i liked them!
Every christmas my grandpa gave each and every one of us grandkids a silver dollar. That was so special to each of us,most all of us still have those silver dollars.Toward the end of his life it turned into half dollars because there was so many of us..lol..
I loved meeting at grandpa and grandmas for christmas and we'd all set at the long table with the ''vettles''s
served!
i still miss that even though their house is now my house to raise grandkids in....
My mom working overtime constantly just to be able to give us presents every year..she was a single mom...
The first christmas with my son,,awwww that changed everything!THE NEXT YEAR WAS WITH MY DAUGHTER AS WELL...
the first year i had to have christmas with my grandkids and every year after..
And the year that i spent christmas at moms with my 2 grandsons that were then living with me wondering if my daughter was dead or alive and prayed so hard for a miracle with her to come off drugs alive and better..
The most important christmas of all was the first...when Jesus was born for all of us...
thank you for this sweet contest!
