"Embracing Your Second Calling: Find Passion and Purpose for the Rest of Your Life" by Dale Hanson Bourke- Review
Embracing Your Second Calling: Find Passion and Purpose for the Rest of Your Life
Dale Hanson Bourke
Have you ever contemplated what the second half of your life should be? The author, Dale Hanson Bourke travels on her own journey of discovery and takes us along. She relates to her readers her quest to find passion and purpose in her life and gives suggestions and guidance to those women approaching 50. Identifying with the author, I quickly began my own journey of discovering what God wants me to accomplish. Though at age 61, I should have been already responding to God's call, it's never too late to begin.
The inspiration I found in this book should certainly benefit most women in this season of life.
In the product description it states:
Bourke's vulnerability and story-driven approach offers essential principles and specific suggestions as well as interactive elements including:
Questions for reflection and going deeper
Ideas on how to become more involved
Prayers for wisdom and commitment
Action steps for moving forward
Dale Bourke utilizes the story of Ruth from the Bible to emphasize how God can take someone who thinks her life is over, and transform it into a time with new growth. The first half of our lives we concentrate on doing for our children, spouses, career. As Dale suggests, the second half of life should be about molding ourselves into the person we want to be , God willing.
I urge those in turmoil in transitioning their lives to read this most compelling book.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from BookSneeze in exchange for an honest review. At no time was I asked for a favorable review. If I say a book is good, then IT IS GOOD!
