Gnomeo & Juliet
Must See!
Arrives in theaters Feb. 11!
Gracie had her fingers crossed that we would be selected to view the pre-release screening of Touchstone Pictures' "Gnomeo & Juliet! Her wish came true and on Sat. Feb. 5th we travelled to Seattle to see this clever film at the Regal Thornton Cinema Stadium 14.
Highlighting the music of Elton John, "Gnomeo & Juliet" is a delightful interpretation of Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet". The feud between the Montagues and Capulets transforms to a riotous romp between the Reds and the Blues. This British animated romance is set in adjacent English backyard gardens.
Juliet is more Fiona than Cinderella. She has a mind of her own. As she stands on top of the pedestal in the garden where her father has placed her, she has an elevated view of the garden. Spotting a flower atop an abandoned building, she sets out to retrieve it for the Reds. Here is where the star-crossed loves meet.
Sparks fly immediately as Gnomeo, a Blue, and a rough-and-tumble sort who loves lawnmower races with the Reds, falls in love with Juliet, dressed in black. Not knowing she is the Red enemy, his heart is now hers.
Finally discovering her true identity, Gnomeo is torn between his family and Juliet. Thus ensues a tit-for-tat all-out war between the Reds and the Blues Who wins? Get to the closest movie theater on Feb.11 and find out!
