THEN...
In November of last year, Gracie and I were seeing the sights of Seattle and having so much fun! Of course, when we arrived at Pike Place Market, she insisted on putting money in this giant piggy bank called Rachel and climbing on for a photo opp!
NOW
SEATTLE - Flowers and a card have been left at the site where the popular Rachel the pig stood at Seattle's Pike Place Market.
On Saturday, a taxi driver plowed into Rachel, a 550-pound, bronze piggy bank that has stood outside the market's famous fish-throwing stand since 1986.
The crash knocked the pig off her concrete base, which will have to be repaired. Market officials say it will probably take a few days. Rachel was also scratched up a bit.
A note next to a drawing of Rachel reads "Taking a sick day - will be back soon to help the market's seniors and kids. Th-oinks!"
The piggy bank collects $6,000 to $9,000 each year for social services.
"Rachel the Pig," which doubles as a piggy bank, appears to be escaping a construction area at the Market.
A cab crashed into the pig statue at Pike Place Market.
A bouquet of flowers and a get well note for Rachel the pig.
