Sylvia's Prayer
This is a new series of posts about Sylvia Browne's prayers and meditations that she and her Spirit Guides, Francine and Raphael, present in the 3-books of Journey Of The Soul series. I will be posting many such meditations to help you all in this sometimes seemingly endless voyage we are all on here on earth.
SYLVIA'S PRAYER
LET THIS NEW SPIRIT OF ENLIGHTENMENT RINSE OUT ALL GUILT
AND FEAR. WE COME TO YOU, GOD, KNOWING THAT YOU KNOW NOT ONLY OUR NAMES, BUT OUR HEARTS, MINDS, AND SOULS. WE WANT TO LEARN OUR LESSONS SO THAT WE CAN MAKE THE JOURNEY OF LIFE EASIER. WE WANT TO PERFECT FASTER THAN WE HAVE THROUGHOUT ALL OUR LIVES.
FROM THIS MOMENT ON WE WILL LOVE OURSELVES AND OTHERS AND LET YOUR SUPREME LOVE LIGHT THE LAMP OF OUR SOULS. WE WILL BE IMBUED WITH LOVE, JUDGMENT, AND THE WILL TO GET US ON TRACK AND KEEP US ON OUR PERFECTION SCHEME.
WE WILL TRULY BE A LIGHT IN A LONELY DESERT
THAT ENLIGHTENS MANY.

MY REVIEW
Wow! Such beautiful songs from one amazing group! My favorite, of course, is "Kandi", a revamped song from Candi Staton. This time the cheated on lover, heartbroken, gets the notes. Please get the whole album, though, and listen with your heart and soul. These guys are THAT good! And THAT magical....

5 Must-Have Fashionable Pieces to Pack for Every Weekend Trip
Memorial day is almost upon us and I thought this would be a great time to think about what is needed for that holiday trip!
Here's MY List!
1. A comfortable, broken-in bathing suit!
Who wants to wear a new suit and find out when you're already in the water that your boobs want to float away?!
2. A comfortable, broken-in pair of shoes!
I will tell you from experience that a new pair of shoes, sandals, or otherwise is NOT conducive to relaxing! I did that once on a trip to New York and SUFFERED. The blisters were hell and eventually I couldn't walk without wincing in pain!
3. A shawl!
A simple summer shawl can dress up anything(even jeans) for an evening out!
4. A Designer Towel for the beach!
This one is my 7 yr old daughter, Gracie's, idea! Personally I prefer an old towel that can handle the surf and the sand, but she wants a towel she can show off!
5. Last, but not least , a good, old-fashioned pair of sunglasses-designer or otherwise!
Gracie will surely disagree with this one, but there is nothing worse on a hot, sunny day than being without sunglasses! Believe, I know!

Inspiration and Hope from The Dolphin
"The Dolphin" is an enchanting tale of courage, and rising above fears and limits. A lonely dolphin named Daniel Alexander Dolphin sets out to fulfill his destiny and learns that to achieve his goals he must not only act, but dream, and not only plan, but believe. The wisdom he aquires can inspire we humans as well:"The Dolphin" is an enchanting tale of courage, and rising above fears and limits. A lonely dolphin named Daniel Alexander Dolphin sets out to fulfill his destiny and learns that to achieve his goals he must not only act, but dream, and not only plan, but believe. The wisdom he aquires can inspire we humans as well:
Excerpted from "The Dolphin: Story of a Dreamer" (Hay House, 2008), by Sergio F. Bambaren. Photos courtesy of Sergio F. Bambaren."There comes a time in life
when there is nothing else to do
but to go your own way.
A time to follow your dreams.
A time to raise the sails of your own beliefs."
"Never forget: When you’re just about to give up,
when you feel that life has been
too hard on you,
remember who you are.
Remember your dream."
"Most of us are not prepared to overcome
our failures, and because of this
we are not able to fulfill our gifts.
It is easy to stand for something that does not carry a risk."
"Discovering new worlds will not only
bring you happiness and wisdom, but also sadness and fear.
How could you value happiness
without knowing what sadness is?
How could you achieve wisdom
without facing your own fears?
In the end, the great challenge in life
is to overcome
the limits within yourself,
pushing them to places you would never
have dreamed they could go."
"Perhaps dreams are made of
lots of hard work.
Perhaps if we try to cut corners,
we lose track of
the reason we started dreaming,
and at the end we find that
the dream no longer belongs to us.
Perhaps if we just follow the
wisdom from our heart, then time
will make sure we get to our destiny."
"Falling into the deepest desperation
gives you the chance to find
your true nature.
Just as dreams come alive
when you least expect them to,
so will the answers to questions
you cannot unfold.
Let your instinct
build a trail of wisdom,
and let your fears be
diminished by hope."
"Some things will always be stronger
than time and distance.
Deeper than languages and ways.
Like following your dreams,
and learning to be yourself.
Sharing with others
the magic you have found. . . . "
"There are some things you cannot see
with your eyes.
You have to see them with your heart,
and that’s the hard part of it.
For instance,
if you find the spirit of the youngster
inside of you,
with your memories and his dreams,
you two will walk together,
trying to find a way through this
adventure called life.
Always trying to make the best of it.
And your heart will never become tired or old. . ."
"Follow your dreams. Listen to your heart.
Whatever others might tell you,
never forget that you only live once
and that your dreams, big or small,
are the greatest treasures that will
guide your life to a unique and wonderful destiny.
Don’t let your fears stand in the way of your dreams."

The Journey
The Journey
by Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.

Wild Geese
Wild Geese
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Prayer Vigil!
Our dear friend, Kelee at The Katillac Shack has asked:
Will you join me in a 30 minute on-line prayer and positive energy vigil this Wednesday night? All you have to do is send your thoughts out, during this time, for a Divine solution to this global emergency...
Please read Kelee's post to learn more. I will be joining you in prayer Wednesday evening.

A BP leased oil platform exploded April 20 and sank after burning. Eleven workers are missing, presumed dead. A scientist from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration had concluded that oil is leaking at the rate of 5,000 barrels a day, not 1,000 as had been estimated. Where The Wild Things Still Are!
Sterling Miller is a lucky guy. For years, the National Wildlife Federation scientist has made a living out of observing grizzlies, wolves and other American wildlife in some of the USA’s most scenic settings. “You’d think I would be jaded by now,” he says, “but I still get an intense emotional rush every time I see a wild animal. It’s an exhilarating feeling.”
Thanks to USAWeekend.com and National Wildlife Federation
While few people may share Miller’s intimate knowledge of animals, anyone can experience the same sense of exhilaration this summer by visiting places in this country where wildlife is accessible. The United States is unsurpassed at providing havens for its thousands of native species, including several of the most endangered animals on Earth. Whether your goal is to see a 500-pound bear or a rare and fragile butterfly, you can find an appealing destination without leaving the Lower 48 states.
Following are 10 favorites:
Bald eagles, Maine
There has never been a better time to watch our national symbol soar in the wild, thanks to recovery efforts that have increased its numbers 25-fold in the Lower 48 in recent decades. And there are few locations as scenic to watch bald eagles as Acadia National Park, where the rugged Maine coastline, sandy beaches and many islands provide habitat for more than 300 bird species -- a national park record. In summer, dozens of mated pairs of eagles raise their young here; you can view them while driving on the Park Loop Road. “But the best place to see them is by boat in the outer islands,” says Winston Shaw, a local resident who for three decades has been surveying eagle numbers in the park and taking people out in his boat to the best locations.
www.nps.gov/acad
Regal fritillary butterflies, Pennsylvania
One of the country’s busiest National Guard training facilities seems an unlikely destination for travelers who want a close look at one of the country’s most beautiful native insects. But amid its tank trails, parachute drop zone and tens of thousands of soldiers preparing for combat, Fort Indiantown Gap also provides a haven for the largest viable population of regal fritillary butterflies in the eastern United States. Every summer, hundreds of the imperiled creatures emerge from their cocoons in an area on the base where the plants they need to survive flourish. For several days in July, fort staff members provide free guided tours of the butterfly habitat.
Synchronous fireflies, Tennessee
A natural spectacle unlike any other in the Western Hemisphere takes place every June in a Great Smoky Mountains meadow, where throngs of fireflies (Photinus carolinus) gather for two to three weeks of breathtakingly beautiful synchronized mating displays. The show begins every night between 9 and 10, when dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of the lightning bugs begin flashing almost at the same time. The insects flash together for two to four seconds, followed by 10- to 12-second pauses. Because adult fireflies live for only three weeks, these brilliant light shows are the only way males and females can find each other in the darkness. The meadow is about six miles southwest of Gatlinburg, Tenn. The National Park Service runs buses to the site from the Sugarlands Visitor Center.
www.nps.gov/grsm
American alligators, Florida
The gator’s ancestor was already on earth when the dinosaurs first appeared. The reptile, which can grow as long as 19 feet, has survived for more than 65 million years. Today, one of the premier places to see it up close is the Everglades National Park, which shelters thousands of the creatures. You can spot them easily from canoes and hiking trails, including the park’s popular Anhinga Trail boardwalk. Despite their frightening appearance, gators usually aren’t a threat to people. Just don’t feed them or get between a protective mama and her offspring, which hatch during the summer wet season. You can tell a young gator by its distinctive yellow bands. In the dry season, you can take ranger-led daytime and evening gator tours from the Royal Palm Visitor Center.
www.nps.gov/ever
Green jays, Texas
Gorgeously clad in brilliant blue, green and yellow plumage, the green jay is an unmistakably tropical bird that rarely ventures far north of the U.S.-Mexico border. The best place in the U.S. to see this magnificent creature is the Lower Rio Grande Valley, where you’re also likely to spot dozens of other tropical bird species found nowhere else in this country. One of the largest protected sites in the valley, Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, is particularly well known for avian life. With 413 documented species, it is home to more types of birds than any other U.S. wildlife refuge. Green jays and other exoticlooking songsters frequent the feeders and photography blind near the visitors’ center.
Prairie dogs, South Dakota
There’s rarely a dull moment in 1,000-acre Roberts prairie dog town in Badlands National Park. In early morning and late afternoon in summer, thousands of chatty black-tailed prairie dogs exit their burrows to socialize, their antics clearly visible from Sage Creek Rim Road. Black-tailed prairie dogs, the species found in the park, have one of the most sophisticated communications systems in the animal kingdom. Listen closely and you can hear their distinctive calls. The colony also is home to about 20 black-footed ferrets, one of our most endangered mammals. Along the park’s loop road, you may get a glimpse of the deerlike pronghorn, North America’s fastest land mammal that can sprint 70 mph.
www.nps.gov/badl
American bison, Oklahoma
Few animals symbolize our Wild West heritage as strongly as the American bison, or buffalo, as it is commonly called. Native only to this continent, our largest land animal numbered in the millions before overhunting nearly wiped it out in the late 1800s. Bison were reintroduced in southwestern Oklahoma’s Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in 1907 and number around 650 animals. Drive along refuge roads to view them as well as elk and Texas longhorn cattle.
www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/oklahoma/wichitamountains
Sea otters, California
You may think of southern sea otters as playful mammals floating among fronds of giant kelp on the central California coast. But the best place to see them is entirely different: a muddy-bottomed estuary 15 miles north of Monterey called Elkhorn Slough. The threatened species first showed up in this tidal marsh in the mid-1980s. “When I started leading tours 16 years ago, I’d be excited to see one or two otters,” says guide Yohn Gideon. “Now I’m disappointed if I don’t see 20 or more.” Though the charismatic creatures can be watched from shore, visitors can get better views by renting kayaks or taking a pontoon boat tour. Other attractions: California sea lions and harbor seals.
California condors, Arizona
Two decades ago, fewer than two dozen of these birds survived, all in captivity. Today, they number about 350 and as many as 70 regularly hang out at popular scenic viewpoints in Grand Canyon National Park. From May to August, condors sleep on cliffs below Bright Angel Lodge on the park’s South Rim, waking around 8 a.m. each day and circling up the cliffs before heading off for the day in search of food. They return in the afternoon, swooping dramatically on 9-foot wingspans directly above visitors’ heads before settling again on the cliffs.
nps.gov/grca/naturescience/california-condors.htm
Grizzly bears, Montana
For sheer thrills, nothing compares with seeing a grizzly in the wild, and Glacier National Park is one of the few locales in the American West where you are likely to see one. A recent census found that the park is home to nearly 800 bears, twice as many as previous estimates suggested. During summer on the park’s east side, grizzlies usually frequent lowland meadows and aspen groves, returning to higher altitudes to hibernate. Remember: Grizzlies are dangerous and do not like to be surprised. So before you venture onto a trail, ask the Park Service about precautions to take while traveling in bear country.

Oh, yes! I found her! Another kindred soul! My friend, Elizabeth! And I know as surely as I know my own name that I have been searching for her for a very long time! After you read Elizabeth Essex's words, please comment! I'd love to show her you care, too!
Reaching The Invisible
When you know, you know. There is so much more than what people see. And you wish you could explain what you know but words do not...can not describe it. Something bigger in the world...bigger THAN the world. Something that is so close within grasp, you feel your fingers brush against it, barely skimming it really but never fully touching it.
You look around and you feel like life is a dream, like life and everything in it..you can put your hand through it. It's an illusion. And in life, you try to find others who KNOW. Who understand what you know...and when you do, it is like a long lost reunion. It's in every breathe, every move, every emotion..the knowing.
The closest word to describe it is enlightened. You look at life as a game and this is jsut one toss of the dice. Little things draw your attention; the way the sun feels, the way the wind blows, why things work the way they do, how people react to certain things. Often, you look at life and feel like a stranger. Realtives, family, homes, places in your life...but it only happens for a split second, as if you were put into someone else's life, and before you really grasp it, click, everything is back to normal.
A lot of the times, you can not envision how you are to others. Because who they see, is not who you ARE. You don't fit in and you know it. You have always ALWAYS felt like you had a bigger destiny, like just around the corner, everything will change. Like you are holding your breathe, just waiting for it. Waiting for whatever it is that makes you smile and look at the world the way you do.
And sometimes in your life, you find someone who knows...knows what you know. And it is like mending a tear in your soul. Like they are the invisible that you reached out for long, reached for so hard...that person is sitting in your hand, saying hold me. You can breathe now. I suppose the term would be soul mates.
But I also believe in having more than 1 soul mate. Sometimes soulmates come into your life for a lifetime, sometimes for only a month. But each one impacts your life, changes you in ways no one would understand.

My Top 10 Creative and Affordable Vacation Ideas!
Affordable Vacation Ideas
Toyota Sienna
In the distant past before Gracie was born, my idea of a vacation consisted of jetting to Maui, Hawaii, Vegas, Phoenix, New Orleans and staying at a top resort where chocolates on my pillows abounded! Now post-Gracie and the fact that I am on a limited income those trips are not possible at all! But the very definition of a vacation suggests rest, relaxation, and fun with those you love! Especially vacations including your child! So here, my friends are my Top 10 Creative AND Affordable Vacation Ideas!
1. Take the Train! Nothing is more enjoyable or exciting with a child, in my opinion. Gracie loved looking out the windows seeing the scenery rush by! she adored eating in the dining car though most of the time we ate the food we brought with us! (YES, YOU CAN DO THIS ON A TRAIN!) This is much more cost-effective than the sky-high rates in that dining car! But I had promised her. And if you decide to eat a meal there, choose breakfast! It's cheaper. Amtrak has many plans available!
2. Drive Your Car to a Day-Trip Destination! The possibilities here are endless! One day drive for 15 minutes! Another day, 20 minutes! Make it fun and interesting, taking everyone's hobbies into consideration!
3. Make sure you check online for specials! Here you will find many links and opportunities to enjoy your summer!
4. Let Your Kids Pick the Place! This can be a wonderful chance to let your kids learn something and they won't even know it! Older kids can plan the whole trip! Imagine what can be learned! Math, map skills, dealing with the businesses involved, etc, etc and ETC! Younger children can participate, too!
5. Create a Money Jar Now! You'd be surprised how that small change adds up! Put in the money you save on coupons, too!
6. Enter Sweepstakes! Someone has to win! Why not you? This is not the old days where every entry cost you a stamp! Now you are only limited by how much sleep you need!
7. Have a YARD Sale! Put your whole family to work. There's GOLD in your trash!
8. Swap Houses with a friend or relative! Yikes! Can you stand a CHEAP vacation across country where you can also cook your own food?
9. Day Camps! Many communities have day camps for families! Check out your local Community Center or YMCA! Check out, too, the many programs for low-income families.
10. Dream! If you want something badly enough, there is a way to get it! I'm living proof of that!

Take the Risk
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing." - Helen Keller

Life-After-Death, Ancient Texts, & the Vril:
On Monday's show, filmmaker, and hermetic scholar Jay Weidner discussed his documentary about life-after-death, as well as his research into an ancient group known as the Aryans or the Vril. His film, Infinity: The Ultimate Trip features such people as Dannion Brinkley and Gregg Braden exploring concepts of the afterlife and reincarnation. Weidner said he made the film to help people not be afraid to die, and to no longer be afraid to live their lives freely. "Once we realize that there's no such thing as death, then I think we're going to be liberated from the political and social environment that we've been thrust into," he said. In the film, Brinkley reported that the government has investigated near-death experiences but has refused to tell the public what they've found, because it's in their interests to control the populace through fear.
Secrets are going to come undone, "and one of the main secrets of all is that we are hyperdimensional beings...and that energies do not die, they only transform themselves," Weidner declared. In his study of the ancient Sanskrit texts called the Puranas, he learned that humanity has been on Earth for as long as a million years, and repeats four different cycles. Our current age, they predicted, will end in the year 2442 with coronal mass ejections wiping out life as we know it.
According to Weidner's interpretation of the Puranas, during one of the previous cycles when solar ejections occurred, a group of Earthlings were able to escape to Mars and live there safely underground. When they returned to Earth, their appearance had changed to tall, pale-colored beings, who became known as the Ayrans or the Vril, he said, adding that they're secretly ruling the planet. He also talked about L. Austine Waddell's research into the Aryans, and director Stanley Kubrick, whom he believed was trying to reveal knowledge of secret ruling societies, in his films like Eyes Wide Shut, and an abandoned project called The Aryan Papers.

Mother's Day of Today Along way From True Spirit!
Mother's Day of Today
Although Mother’s Day is celebrated at different times, and for different reasons around the world, in America, Mother’s Day has its origins in the accomplishments of two very remarkable women.
Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis was born in Virginia in 1832, the daughter of the Rev. Josiah W. and Nancy Kemper Reeves. The family later moved to Barbour County in what is now West Virginia, and it is there that Jarvis is most loved and revered for her work with women’s organizations, as a humanitarian, a health worker, and an all-round amazing woman, a true peer of heroes like Mother Teresa.
In her 20s, Jarvis organized a series of Mothers’ Day Work Clubs in cities and towns in Virginia, to raise awareness of health and sanitary conditions. Among other services, the clubs raised money for medicine, hired women to work for families in which the mothers suffered from tuberculosis, and inspected bottled milk and food.
During the Civil War, Jarvis urged the Mothers’ Day Work Clubs to declare their neutrality and provide relief to both Union and Confederate soldiers. The clubs treated the wounded and regularly fed and clothed soldiers stationed in the area. Jarvis also managed to preserve an element of peace in a community being torn apart by political differences. During the war, she worked tirelessly despite the personal tragedy of losing four of her children to disease. In all, eight of her twelve children died before reaching adulthood.
Near the end of the war, the Jarvis family moved to the larger town of Grafton. Tensions increased as both Union and Confederate soldiers returned at war’s end. In the summer of 1865, Ann Jarvis organized a Mothers’ Friendship Day at the courthouse in Pruntytown to bring together soldiers and neighbors of all political beliefs. The event was a great success despite the fear of many that it would erupt in violence. Mothers’ Friendship Day was an annual event for several years.
Upon her death in 1905, Jarvis’ daughter, Anna, decided she would dedicate her life to establishing a nationally recognized Mother’s Day, as a tribute to her own mother and the millions hardworking and committed woman across America.
In 1907, Anna launched her campaign by handing out white carnations to congregants at her mother’s church in Grafton, West Virginia. In 1908, her mother’s church acquiesced to Anna’s request to hold a special Sunday service in honor of mothers - a tradition that spread the very next year to churches in 46 states. In 1909, Anna left her job and dedicated herself to a full-time letter-writing campaign, imploring politicians, clergymen and civic leaders to institute a national day for mothers.
In 1912, Jarvis’ efforts met with success: Her home state of West Virginia adopted an official Mother’s Day; two years later, the U.S. Congress passed a Joint Resolution, signed by President Wilson, establishing a national Mother’s Day emphasizing the role of women in their families. Ever since, Mother’s Day has been celebrated by Americans on the second Sunday in May.
However it was a bitter-sweet triumph for Anna Jarvis. She grew to see Mother’s Day turn into a commercial spectacle far from the tribute she first envisioned. True to her mother’s own passion, Anna wanted Mother’s Day to be about giving voice to critical human rights issues and promoting the fair treatment of women in a time when sexual inequality is still a big problem. Mother’s Day today carries little of this message, overtaken as it has been by retailers and card and chocolate manufacturers.
“I wanted it to be a day of sentiment, not profit,” Anna Jarvis once said.
So, this Mother’s Day, May 9, remember the tremendous struggles of great women like Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis, and consider a tribute to your mother, wife, sister or daughter more in fitting with the true spirit of the day.
