"Despicable Me" DVD Review
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow Minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. Yes, the moon!
Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.
One of the world’s greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.
Goodness! Hilarious villians! Adorable rugrats! This movie is over-the-moon funny! Is the moon still there? If Gru had his way, the orb would be toast(or at least the size of toast!) Holy Shrink-gun, Batman! The characters are silly and shaped funny! The 3-D is wonderful and adds to the ridulous! My 7 year old daughter, Gracie, loved it! And loved it and loved it and loved it! The rate she's watching it that disc will wear out before Christmas!
The casting of voices was right on the money! Steve Carell as Gru; Julie Andrews as his mother. Russell Brand, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and little Elsie Fisher! Great voices! Not a classic movie by any means, but judging by my daughter's reaction, it's well beyond entertaining! Grab it for Christmas!
Disclosure: I recieved the DVD in order to conduct an honest review. No monetary agreement was contracted. At no time was I asked for a favorable review. If I say something is good, the IT IS GOOD!
